Army Language

Understand what I mean with this Army Language translator:

19K: The MOS for M1A1 Crew Member, a tank operator. Pronounced "19 Kilo" using the Army's phonetic alphabet.

AIT: Advanced Individual Training: The station following BCT, where the soldiers will learn advanced training for their Army Job.

ASVAB: Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery - The test the Army uses to learn a recruits mental strengths and weaknesses before assigning him an MOS.

BCT: Basic Combat Training - The first stations a recruit is sent to, where he will learn the basics of combat and rifle marksmanship.

MEPS: Military Entrance Processing Station. Where a recruit is tested before joining the Army. Video of MEPS here: A Day At the MEPS.

MOS: Military Occupational Specialty - A soldiers job in the Army.

OSUT: One Station Unit Training - Instead of BCT and AIT, some MOS' have soldiers train all skills in one station. As a 19K my OSUT will be Fort Knox.
